When your Lenovo ThinkPad T60, T60p, T61, T61p fan noise or error, How to fix Thinkpad T60 T60P T61 T61P CPU fan?

This tutorial about how to install, fix or replace Thinkpad T60 T60P T61 T61P CPU fan, It fit for IBM Thinkpad T61 42W2462, 42W2460, MCF-217PAM05, MCF-216PAM05, and fit for IBM Thinkpad T61P 44C0557, 44C0825, 44C0826, 44C2821 fan and IBM Thinkpad T60, T60P fan.

Note: Remove the battery at first!

Step 4 - 1. Removing the screws in the red circle.

1 Red Circle: Removing the C shell palm.

  • yellow circle ----- screen axis/hinge screw.
  • Blue Circle ---- hard drive screws.
  • Black Circle ---- keyboard screws.
  • gray circle ---- SIM card slot (X200 internal expansion module slot. This slot can also be inserted inquiry, X200 are reserved WWAN antenna inside the screen).
  • Green Circle ---- palmrest(C shell) / U-shaped frame screws.
  • Red Square Circle ---- drainage channels.
  • Red Circle ---- memory cover screws.
  • White Circle ---- motherboard screws.

Step 11 - 6 : Remove Lenovo ThinkPad X201 / X201i keyboard.

Step 11 - 7 : Remove Lenovo ThinkPad X201 / X201i palm rest / C shell. Note: Please pull the cable of touch pad gently.

Step 1: We should remove these screws as the following picture:

Step 2: Remove the C Shell ( Also called palm rest or C cover ). Please pay attention to the connector cable at the back of C shell.

Step 3: Remove the Keyboard.

Step 4: Remove the U Frame.

Red circle: For remove the 4 screws of the plastic bezels ( C shell ).
Blue circle: For remove the 1 screw of keyboard.
Yellow circle: For remove the 2 screws of U shaped frame.
